12-month FTC (potential to extend), full time role
The comms team in Warsaw deliver ambitious and dynamic publicity plans to build the reputation of BBC Studios and bring the best of British creativity to a wide audience in the region.
As Communications Executive you will be responsible for assisting consumer, trade and digital communications across our branded services and content sales businesses across Central and Eastern Europe.
Working with Senior Communications Officer, Poland and CEE the post holder will deliver activity against the agreed communications plan, lead on small press campaigns and provide administrative support and research on behalf of the communications team.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports communications colleagues in publicising BBC Studios programmes and services across the CEE region.
- Contributes to communications materials – writing, editing and uploading where relevant (i.e. briefings, speeches, presentations, press releases, programme information, previews and promotional clips
- Assists with the planning, organising and delivery of press conferences, briefing and other events where required.
- Leads on low-level priority campaigns for BBC Studios Branded services
- Disseminates and pitches materials to press contacts
- Answers local media queries and requests for assets
- Responsible for distribution of monthly highlights document
- Arranges and facilitates press interviews for talent and BBC Studios executives
- Researches and provides publicity material and information for the communications officer
- Researches, sources content and builds presentations for senior management when required.
- Provides additional administrative assistance and project support to stakeholders and colleagues.
- Responsible for maintenance of media lists
- Monitors, compiles and distributes all media coverage concerning BBCS’s brands, content and digital output
- Maintains accurate and up to date information regarding comms activity for external and internal comms use
Knowledge, skills, training and experience
Essential
- Some experience in communications environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines often under pressure.
- Very good written and spoken communications including good English and Polish spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and social skills, both face-to-face and on the phone.
- Computer literate with strong office skills
- A good working knowledge and use of social media for promoting content and news stories.
- Organised and focused with good attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience of organising events
- Experience of writing communications materials, for publication by a wide range of outlets to short notice and tight deadlines.
- Good knowledge of the media
